Why You Should Download CAT Previous Year Papers?

The CAT exam consists of 3 sections, viz DILR, VARC, and QA, with a sectional time of 40 mins.

Each section has 22-26 questions that need to be solved in the given time. The shortage of timing and solving questions with speed and accuracy creates pressure on the candidate.

Solving past year's papers on the CAT exam helps the student to understand the CAT exam pattern and difficulty level of the questions asked.

Also, it helps you to know your weak and strong points and analyse your overall performance.

CAT 2024 Exam Pattern

Before getting into the past papers, it's very important to understand the CAT 2024 exam pattern. The exam consists of three sections:

  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) – 20 questions
  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) – 24 questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude (QA) – 22 questions

You will have a total of 2 hours (40 minutes per section) to complete 66 questions.

These include both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Type In The Answer (TITA) questions.

While there is a negative marking for incorrect MCQs (-1 for each wrong answer), the TITA questions do not have any negative markings.
