Group X: For Ministries/Departments of Central Government located mostly in Delhi.
Group Y: For Offices/Departments of Central Government including Attached/Subordinate Offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.

The cost of living allowance is paid as DA and it will be 12% of the basic pay. The DA will be added to the in-hand salary of SSC employees every month.
The transport allowance is provided to look after daily travelling needs for stenographers. As per stenographer SSC Salary employees posted in the metro cities will get Rs.3600 as TA whereas the employees posted other cities will get Rs.1800 as TA.
HRA is a reimbursement that is provided to the employee as stay ease. House rent allowance varies for each individual depending on the place of posting.
