These courses are provided full-time and have a two-and-a-half-year duration. The NID Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT) is a national-level entrance exam that determines admission to various programmes.

NID Bangalore Courses Eligibility Criteria 2025

The eligibility criteria for admission to NID Bangalore courses vary depending on the program level.

Applicants who are interested in getting admission at NID Bengaluru must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

For master's in design (M.Des.): 

• Must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 
• Must have a bachelor's degree in design from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. 
• Must have passed the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT).

NID Bangalore Courses Admission Process 2025

The admission process for NID Bangalore courses is administered by the NID DAT entrance exam. 

• Design Aptitude Test (DAT): The DAT is a two-stage exam conducted by NID. The first stage is the DAT Prelims, which is computer-based. The second stage is the DAT Mains, which is pen-and-paper. 
• Based on the scores obtained in the DAT Prelims, candidates will be shortlisted for the DAT Mains as per merit. NID admit cards for shortlisted candidates are available for download only on the official NID admissions website (https://admissions.nid.edu).

The DAT Mains for M.Des. programmes consist of two parts:

Studio Test: This may consist of tests in different formats. The DAT Mains will be conducted in English only.

Interviews: The interviews will be conducted separately for each discipline immediately after the Studio Test and at the same centre as the Studio Test. 

Fee for NID Bangalore Courses 2025

The course fee for NID Bangalore varies depending on the course and specialisation. A postgraduate course costs around INR 11 lakh for the entire course.
