  • This year, a total of 158 Karnataka Judiciary Vacancies have been released for the Civil Judge post. 
  • Karnataka High Court doesn't send the result offline. Candidates need to have their user ID and password ready with them to check the result.

Karnataka High Court Civil Judge Qualifying Marks 2025

As per the official notification, the qualifying marks are released for each stage. The qualifying marks vary for Prelims, Mains, and Viva-Voce. Candidates qualifying all these stages will be eligible for final selection.

Preliminary Examination Candidates belonging to different categories must meet the required minimum marks to pass. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and PwBD: 50 marks
Other Categories: 60 marks
Selection for Main Written Examination Candidates will be selected based on merit, with a ratio of 10 candidates for each vacancy. Not Applicable
Main Written Examination Candidates need to meet the minimum marks in each paper to qualify for the Viva-voce. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and PwBD: 40 marks per paper
Other Categories: 50 marks per paper
Selection for Viva-voce Candidates will be selected for Viva-voce in merit order, with a ratio of 3 candidates for each vacancy. Not Applicable
Viva-voce Candidates must meet the minimum marks required to qualify for the final selection. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and PwBD: 40 marks
Other Categories: 50 marks

Karnataka Judiciary Selection Process 2025

As we all know, there are four stages involved in the selection procedure for High Court Civil Judge. Go through the detailed selection process for Karnataka Judicial Services Exam 2020:

Preliminary Examination

  • The prelims exam is considered as the screening test for all candidates. 
  • The preliminary exam question paper includes objective type multiple-choice questions. The exam is conducted for a total of 100 marks.
  • Candidates qualifying the prelims exam above the cut off marks will be eligible for the mains exam.

Mains Exam

  • The mains exam is a written examination i.e., a descriptive mode of exam.
  • The exam is conducted for a total of 400 marks i.e., 100 marks for each section
  • Marks secured in the high court of Karnataka civil judge mains exam results will be considered for final selection.

Interview 

  • The Karnataka Judiciary Interview round is conducted for 100 marks.
  • Marks secured in this round are considered for the final merit list. 
  • This stage tests candidate's general knowledge, principles of law, and suitability for appointment.

Computer Test

  • This Computer skill test is conducted for 25 marks.
  • This round is conducted to test the suitability and computer knowledge of the candidate.

Karnataka High Court Civil Judge Document Verification 2025

After qualifying all the stages above the cut off marks, candidates will be shortlisted for document verification. All the documents of candidates will be verified. Here are the list fo documents that candidates have to carry for the verification round without fail:

  • 10th certificate as the date of birth proof
  • ID proof
  • Marks cards of degree
  • Law degree
  • Convocation certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • Certificate if claiming of reservation benefits
  • For claiming benefits under the Kannada medium have to produce a certificate. This certificate states that the candidate has studied Kannada till 10th standard.
  • No objection certificate

Karnataka Judicial Services Probation Period 2025

After the final selection and shortlisting of candidates for appointment of Civil Judge post, candidates need to serve a probationary period. This probationary period will continue for 2 years from the date of joining. The newly appointed Civil Judge for Karnataka High Court shall:

  • Undergo training for a period of 01 years or more than a year as specified by the High Court.
  • Pass the Kannada language examination. This examination is conducted by the Karnataka Public Commission. Those who have not passed the language examination earlier, have to take this test.
