Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Anurag Thakur to launch Yuva Utsava – India@2047 from Ropar in Punjab

Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur will launch Yuva Utsava – India@2047 from Ropar in Punjab on 4th March, Saturday.

He will also launch the Dashboard of Yuva Utsav during the event. Yuva Utsava will be simultaneously hosted at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar in Uttrakhand, Dhar and Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh, Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, Saraikela in Jharkhand, Kapurthala in Punjab, Jalgaon in Maharashtra, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, Karimnagar in Telangana, Palakkad in Kerala and Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu.

President Droupadi Murmu to launch Catch The Rain 2023 Campaign in New Delhi

President Droupadi Murmu will confer the Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman 2023, under various categories of the Swachh Bharat Mission – Grameen, Jal Jeevan Mission and National Water Mission, in New Delhi on 4th March 2023, Saturday.

During the function, the President will launch the Jal Shakti Abhiyan – Catch the Rain 2023 campaign with the theme of source sustainability for drinking water. She will also launch a video on ‘Jal Shakti se Nari Shakti’ and a commemorative stamp. The President will also release ‘Swachh Sujal Shakti Ki Abhivyakti’, which is a compendium of case stories from Swachh Bharat Mission – Grameen, Jal Jeevan Mission and National Water Mission.

Indian Railways to launch Bharat Gaurav train to northeast

The Indian Railways is set to launch its first Bharat Gaurav train to the northeast on March 21 which will offer passengers a tour of the region, The train tour will start from Delhi Safdarjung railway station on March 21, 2023 and will cover Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat & Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti, Agartala & Udaipur in Tripura, Dimapur & Kohima in Nagaland and Shillong & Cherapunji in Meghalaya in 15 days tour.

Former Chief Justice of India AM Ahmadi passes away at 90 at his home

AM Ahmadi passed away on Thursday at his home here. Ahmadi was the chief justice from 1994 to 1997. Having begun his judicial career as a City Civil and Session Court judge in Ahmedabad, he was the only Chief Justice of India who started at the very lowest rank to rise to the highest position of the Indian judiciary.

National Safety Day

The National Safety Day is celebrated every year on March 4 to raise awareness about safety protocols that one should follow in order to avoid accidents and mishaps at the workplace. The day aims to educate the general public about the measures one should follow to work safely.

The theme of National Safety Day is “Reducing Workplace Accidents”. Each year on March 4, the National Safety Council observes National Safety Day to commemorate the founding and founding principles of the organization.

 World Obesity Day

World Obesity Day is observed globally on 4 March as of March 2020 (having previously been observed on the 11th October) with the view of promoting practical solutions to end the global obesity crisis.

It is organized by the World Obesity Federation, a non-profit body which is in official relations with the World Health Organization and is a collaborating body on the Lancet Commission on Obesity. World Obesity states that its aim is to "lead and drive global efforts to reduce, prevent and treat obesity .

Tata Steel Mining Signs MoU With GAIL For Clean Fuel

In order to reduce carbon footprint in its operations, Tata Steel Mining Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with GAIL (India) Limited for supply of natural gas to its ferro alloys plant at Athgarh in Odisha’s Cuttack district. According to the MoU, GAIL will supply the agreed quantity of natural gas through its pipeline from Gujarat to Athgarh.

Signing the MoU, Tata Steel Mining MD Pankaj Satija said, “As a responsible mining company, we are committed to protect the environment by using cleaner fuels and signing of the MoU with GAIL (India) Limited will further help us in this direction.” Furnace oil emits more carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulphur oxides than natural gas does. Natural gas emits 27 per cent less CO2 and has lower levels of other pollutants,

RBI imposes Rs 3.06 Crore penalty on Amazon Pay (India)

Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of three crore six lakh sixty six thousand rupees on Amazon Pay (India) Private Limited for non-compliance of certain directions related to Prepaid Payment Instruments and Know Your Customer.

Accordingly, a notice was issued and decision to impose the penalty was taken after considering the entity’s response. In a press release, RBI said that the action is based on deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the entity with its customers.

Foxconn to invest up to $1 billion in new Bengaluru plant

Foxconn Technology Group, the Taiwan-based iPhone manufacturer, will set up a 300-acre electronics manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The company will invest nearly $700 million, which is likely to generate 1 lakh jobs in the coming years.“Apple phones to be built in a new 300-acre factory in Karnataka. The double-engine governments of PM Narendra Modi and Bommai (Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai) are working to get investments and add jobs,” tweeted Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State, electronics and IT (Meity).

RBI puts restrictions on Musiri Urban Co-operative Bank

The Reserve Bank of India on Friday imposed a Rs 5,000 cap on withdrawals by individual customers from Tamil Nadu-based Musiri Urban Co-operative Bank as part of several restrictions slapped on the lender due to its deteriorating financial condition.

The restrictions on the lender will remain in force for six months from the close of business on March 3 and are subject to review, the RBI said in a statement.
