Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates National Training Centre for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India – FSSAI.
“As we aim to become a developed nation in our Amrit Kaal, it is essential that our citizens are healthy. Swasth Nagrik creates a Swastha Rashtra, which leads to a Samruddha Rashtra.” This was stated by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya at the inauguration of the state-of-the-art National Training Centre for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State (HFW) and General (Dr.) V.K. Singh, Minister of State (Civil Aviation, MoRTH) were also present at the event.
Reiterating Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s focus on wellness and preventive healthcare, the Union Minister said that India’s traditional food habits and way of life should be adopted as ‘our kitchen is our hospital’. “Good quality nutritious food can go a long way in keeping diseases at bay”, he emphasized.
The Cabinet approved to establish Regional Office of the Universal Postal Union, UPU, in New Delhi. The aim is to undertake UPU’s development cooperation and technical assistance activities in the region by entering into an agreement with UPU.
The approval enables India to play an active role in multilateral organizations in postal sector with an emphasis on South-South and Triangular cooperation. India will provide a Field Project Expert, staff, and office, set up for UPU’s regional office.
Projects on capacity building and training, improving efficiency and quality of postal services, enhancement of Postal technology, e-commerce, and trade promotion etc will be prepared and implemented for the region by this office in coordination with UPU.
The initiative will help expanding India’s diplomatic footprint and strengthen relations with other countries, especially in Asia-Pacific region and will enhance India’s presence at the global postal forums.
Central University of Assam located at Silchar will be collaborating with four Universities of Bangladesh in academic research and studies.

In Hockey, the Indian hockey team defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 2-1 at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex Stadium in Salalah, Oman.
With this title win, India become the most successful country in the history of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup.
Angad Bir Singh and Araijeet Hundal Singh scored for the champions before Pakistan got one goal through Basharat Ali’s strike. This was India’s fourth title at Men’s Junior Asia Cup, having won it previously in 2004, 2008 and 2015. Pakistan are the second-most successful team in the tournament with three titles but their last win came 27 years ago in 1996.
Earlier, India and Pakistan, pitted in the same pool, remained undefeated in the group stage after India vs Pakistan hockey match ended in a 1-1 draw. India, however, managed to top the group as they had a better goal difference over second-placed Pakistan. In the semi-finals, India trounced the Republic of Korea 9-1 while Pakistan defeated Malaysia 6-2.
Krithivasan assumes full-time charge as the chief executive officer of the company. India’s largest information technology (IT) services company, TCS had named Krithivasan as CEO-designate on March 16 after Rajesh Gopinathan stepped down from the position he assumed in 2017.
Krithivasan is only the fifth CEO of the company in its 55-year history, reflecting the stable management and strong leadership. Krithivasan has been at TCS for over 34 years now and was Global Head of the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) Business Group at TCS.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) share price rose over a percent on Thursday after K. Krithivasan assumed full-time charge as the chief executive officer of the company.
Amarendu Prakash has taken charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) from May 31. He was previously the Director (In-charge) of SAIL’s Bokaro steel plan.
Prakash was previously involved in driving business transformation and financial turnaround of SAIL, which resulted in bringing back the company from a three year streak of losses, from FY16 toFY18, to being back in the black in FYI9.
He has been leading the Bokaro Steel Plant as Director In-charge since September 2020 and briefly took on additional charge as Director In-Charge of the Rourkela Steel Plant, IISCO and Durgapur Steel Plant.
Under his able leadership, the Bokaro Steel Plant has seen remarkable results, with the plant continuing to break production records, year after year in FY22 and FY23.
Telangana, the 29th state of India, celebrate its formation day on June 2. The state was officially formed on June 2, 2014, and since then, the day is celebrated as Telangana Day or Telangana Formation Day. According to Telangana government, the day marks significance in the state's history for the sustained Telangana movement through the years. All 33 districts in the state honour the day by honouring the people of Telangana for remarkable achievements in science, art and literature.
History: On July 1, 2013, the Congress Working Committee passed a resolution to form Telangana as a separate state. After various stages, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014 bill was passed in the Parliament in February 2014 for the formation of the Telangana state. The bill was then passed by the President of India on March 1, 2014, and the state of Telangana was finally formed on June 2.
After leading the Telangana movement to its desired end, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, became the first Chief Minister of the state.
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lucknow yesterday with an aim to collaborate in the development of Renewable Energy Parks and Projects and to facilitate in Government of India’s efforts towards energy transition.
The MoU was signed by Shri Mohit Bhargava, CEO (NGEL) and Shri Nidhi Kumar Narang, Director (Finance), UPRVUNL in the presence of Shri P. Guruprasad, MD (UPRVUNL), Shri Praveen Saxena, Regional Executive Director (NR) of NTPC. Shri V V Sivakumar, GM (NGEL) and other senior officials of NTPC, NGEL and UPRVUNL were present during the occasion.
The MoU envisages the two organizations to collaborate through setting up of floating and ground mounted Solar Projects in the Rihand reservoir, other water bodies and any available vacant land, development of solar PV Project dedicated for solarization of Ayodhya city and setting up of Renewable energy Parks and Projects wherever land is made available.
