Malaysia Opens Visa-free Travel for Indian Visitors and Chinese Citizens

  • Malaysia has joined Thailand and Sri Lanka to offer 30 days of visa-free travel to visitors from India, starting from December 1.
  • Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also announced a similar provision for Chinese citizens.

President Droupadi Murmu Unveils Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Statue at Supreme Court

  • On the auspicious occasion of Constitution Day, President Droupadi Murmu revealed a statue of Dr B R Ambedkar within the Supreme Court premises.
  • Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal paid their respects to Dr B R Ambedkar by folding their hands and presenting flowers to the impressive over 7-feet tall sculpture.
  • As 2015, November 26 has been dedicated to Constitution Day.

Hardeep Puri Inaugurates Second Floating CNG Station in Varanasi

  • Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, inaugurated the city’s second floating Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mobile Refueling Unit (MRU) station at Ravidas Ghat. Developed by GAIL (India) Limited.

 Mumbai Street to be named in Memory of Actor Vikram Gokhale

  • As the first death anniversary of the legendary figure approaches, a street in Andheri West, Mumbai, is set to be named in his honor.
  • Gokhale was conferred with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2011) & National Award (2012).

India Unveils Biogas Blending Plan to Reduce Natural Gas Imports and Achieve Net Zero Emissions

  • Indian government has announced a phased introduction of blending compressed biogas with natural gas.
  • India’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2070.
  • Commencing in April 2025, the government will initiate the mandatory blending of compressed biogas with natural gas at a rate of 1%.

Anurag Singh Thakur launched Khelo India Para Games 2023 logo and Mascot Ujjwala

  • Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, unveiled the logo and mascot for the first-ever Khelo India Para Games 2023 in New Delhi.
  • The official mascot, ‘Ujjwala,’ a sparrow, was revealed during the ceremony.

 Indian Constitution Day 2023: 26 November

  • On November 26, Indian observes Constitution Day, also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas.'
  • This day is dedicated to legacy of B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the constitution.
  • This day marks the historic adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949, with its official implementation taking place on January 26, 1950.

 World Sustainable Transport Day 2023: 26 November

  • World Sustainable Transport Day 2023 focuses on the theme “Sustainable transport, sustainable development”.
  • World Sustainable Transport Day (WSTD) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution A/RES/77/286, adopted on May 31, 2023.
