CTET Eligibility for Age Limit & Nationality 2019
There is actually no age restriction for CTET Exam 2019. However, the candidates' minimum age can be 17 years.
Only Indian Citizens can apply for the exam.
CTET Eligibility 2019 Education Qualification
CTET eligibility criteria for primary (I to V) and elementary (VI to VIII) teacher is separately fixed.
CTET Educational Qualification for Primary Teachers
To qualify for a Primary teacher (I to V), individuals should satisfy one of the conditions given below:
- Cleared 10+2 standard from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks. Cleared or pursuing the final year of the two-year teacher training diploma course in Elementary Education
- Cleared 10+2 standard from a recognized board with at least 45% marks. Cleared or appearing in the last year of the two-year teachers' training diploma in Elementary Education as per rules mentioned in NCTE, 2002
- Cleared 10+2 boards from a recognized board with at least 50% marks and cleared or appearing in the last year of four-year bachelor’s course in Elementary Education
- Passed 10+2 boards with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last year of two-year Diploma in Special Education
- Graduation in any field/area with at least 50% marks and B.Ed Degree
Note: Those who have secured BEd degree from any NCTE recognized university have to compulsorily go through a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within the period of 2 years after they are appointed as a primary teacher.
TET Eligibility for Educational Qualification for Elementary Teachers
To qualify for recruitment as an elementary teacher, the individuals have to satisfy any one of the conditions mentioned below:
- Graduation in any field/area and cleared or appearing in the last year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.Ed)
- Bachelor's in any field of study with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in one-year B.Ed program
- Bachelor's with 45% marks, cleared or appearing in B.Ed as per rules and regulations of NCTECleared 10+2 boards with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in the last year of 4-year BElEd
- Cleared 10+2 boards from a recognized institute with 50% marks and cleared or is appearing in their last year of 4-year BA/ BScEd or BAEd/ BScEd
- Cleared bachelor's with 50% marks and/or appearing in 1-year B.Ed in Special Education
CTET 2019 EligibilityReservation & Associated Parameters
- Students who belong to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Disabled) will get 5% relaxation in qualifying marks
- Candidates must have pursued a diploma/degree in teacher education recognized by NCTE
- In a situation of Diploma in Education (Special Education) & B.Ed (Special Education), a teacher program identifiable by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only will be taken into consideration
- An individual requires to go through a Diploma in Special Education, after appointment, an NCTE recognized six-month Special Programme in Elementary Education
- Aspirants are shortlisted as a teacher of Physical Education as per regulations and rules fixed by NCTE
- For teachers in the area of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education, etc. rules by other school management and state government will be applicable till the time NCTE displays its eligibility conditions with such teachers
