CLAT PG 2024 Seat Allotment List

The seat allotment process of CLAT allocates National Law Universities and courses to those who clear the entrance exam and appear in the CLAT PG Counselling Process 2024.

The Consortium typically releases 5 provisional counselling lists, one after the other. A seat is allotted based on your entrance exam score and the order of preference you gave in the CLAT PG Application Form.

Understanding the Seat Allotment Process

The CLAT 2024 seat allotment process is an important phase in the CLAT PG Counselling Process 2024.

This process, conducted online by the Consortium of NLUs, determines the allocation of seats across various NLUs for both 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB programs.

The seat allotment is based on candidates' merit ranks and admission preferences.

Steps to Check Seat Allotment

Candidates can check their seat allotment by:

  • Logging onto the official CLAT website.
  • Accessing the allotment list link on the homepage.
  • Viewing and downloading the allotment list for the respective course.

Details in the Allotment List

The allotment list includes:

  • Candidate’s name.
  • All India Rank.
  • Candidate's category.
  • Admit card and application number.

Options Available to Candidates

After the seat allotment, candidates have the following options:

a) Accept the Allotted Seat (Freeze Seat): Choose to accept and lock the allotted seat, indicating satisfaction with the allocation and no interest in participating in subsequent rounds of counselling.

b) Float: Accept the allotted seat but remain open to being considered for higher preference NLUs in future rounds. The earlier seat is forfeited if a higher preference seat is allocated in a subsequent round.

c) Exit: Decline the allotted seat and opt out of the current and future counselling rounds. This action precludes any further participation in the CLAT PG 2024 counselling process.

Important Considerations

  • Candidates should check their seat status on the CLAT portal, especially if an NLU has previously rejected their seat.
  • Opting for the EXIT option will exclude candidates from further rounds of allotment.
  • Mop-up rounds may be conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats

CLAT PG 2024 Counselling Fee Refund Rules

The CLAT PG Counselling Process 2024 has specific guidelines regarding the refund of the counselling fee. Understanding these rules is crucial for candidates to manage their finances effectively.

If No Seat is Allocated

  • Rule: If a candidate does not secure a seat after the release of five lists by the Consortium, the entire amount paid (either Rs. 30,000 or Rs. 20,000) will be refunded without any deductions.

Exiting the Counselling Process

  • Rule: If a candidate chooses to exit the CLAT PG Counselling Process 2024 or does not accept any of the seats offered in the first four lists, they will receive a refund of the amount paid (either Rs. 30,000 or Rs. 20,000).
  • Example: If a candidate decides after the third allotment list that they no longer wish to participate in the process, they can exit and will be refunded the full counselling fee they paid.

Withdrawal After the Fourth List

  • Rule: Candidates withdrawing from the CLAT PG Counselling Process 2024 after the fourth list will be subjected to a deduction of Rs. 5,000 from the counselling fee. This penalty is for blocking the seat and disadvantaging other aspirants.
  • Example: If a candidate pays Rs. 20,000 and then decides to withdraw after the fourth allotment list, they will receive a refund of Rs. 15,000, accounting for the Rs. 5,000 deduction.

Ineligibility Based on Documentation

  • Rule: If a candidate is found ineligible based on the documents or information provided, Rs. 5,000 will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
  • Example: A candidate who has paid Rs. 30,000 but is found ineligible due to incorrect documentation will receive a refund of Rs. 25,000
