UP Judiciary Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Those who will satisfy specific eligibility requirements can apply for the exam. The detailed UP PCS J Exam Eligibility Criteria regarding age limit, educational qualification, and nationality are below.

UPPSC Civil Judge Age Limit

  • You must be between the age group of 22 years to 35 years on the first day of July next following the year, i.e. 01.07.2023.
  • You must not have been born after 1st July 2001 and not before 2nd July 1988.

UPPCS Civil Judge Eligibility: Educational Qualification

  • You must have completed a Bachelor of Laws from any recognized University of Uttar Pradesh.
  • You must be an Advocate enrolled under the provisions of the Advocate Act 1961, a Barrister of England or Northern Ireland, or a Member Faculty of Advocates in Scotland and are entitled to practice in the Court.
  • You must possess a thorough Knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri Script.

  • You must be a Citizen of India. 

UP PCS J Application Process 2025

You can fill out the UP Judiciary Application Form only online mode. If you want to apply for the UP Judiciary exam, fill out the online form on or before the last date.

On clicking "ALL NOTIFICATIONS/ADVERTISEMENTS” on the official website of UP Public Service Commission, i.e., uppsc.up.nic.in, the online advertisement will be displayed for the post of Civil Judge in three parts.

  1. User Instructions
  2. View Advertisement
  3. Apply

Click on “Apply” for Online Application.

You can follow the three stages mentioned below while filling out the online form:

First Stage:

  • On clicking “Apply”, the candidate registration form will be displayed.
  • The basic registration form will be displayed by clicking ‘Candidate Registration’ about the Examination.
  • After filling out the basic registration form, the candidates must check all the information filled out.
  • If any correction/modification is required, click the "Edit" button to ensure the necessary corrections/changes are made.
  • After being fully satisfied with all the information filled in, click on ‘Submit Application’.
  • Consequently, the registration of the first stage is over. Thereafter, “Print Registration Slip” will be displayed, and you must Print the Registration Slip by clicking on Print Registration Slip.

Second Stage:

  • After completing the first stage procedure, ‘Fee’ will be displayed with the caption “Click here to proceed for payment.”
  • After clicking the above caption of “Click here to proceed for payment”, the home page of State Bank MOPS (Multi Option Payment System) shall be displayed comprising three modes of payment, which are as follows:
  1. NET BANKING
  2. CARD PAYMENTS
  3. OTHER PAYMENT MODES.
  • After depositing the required fee using any of the above-prescribed modes, “Payment Acknowledgement Receipt (PAR)” will be displayed along with details of the fee payment. You can print it by clicking on “Print Payment Receipt.”

Three Stages:

  • On completing the second stage's procedure, click “Proceed for final submission of the application form". 
  • The candidates must enter all the required information in the format prescribed in the Notification.
  • After filling in all entries in the format, the candidates may click “PREVIEW” to see that all entries and information are correctly entered.
  • After fully satisfying themselves, click the "SUBMIT" button to forward it to the Commission.

UP Judiciary Exam 2025 Application Fee

The application fee can be paid only online using a debit card, credit card, or NEFT. An online transaction fee of 25 INR and the UP Civil Judge Exam application fee will also be charged.
