SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2019: Qualification,Age Limit & Relaxation Details

Every year, the Staff Selection Commission conducts JE exams for Junior Engineers positions in different fields. Candidates are hired by the commission for positions of Junior Engineer Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Quantity Surveying, and contract Posts. Candidates must ensure they satisfy all eligibility standards before applying for the various SSC JE posts, including age, upper age limit, nationality, and educational qualifications. The exam conducting authority, Staff Selection Commission (SSC), prescribes SSC JE eligibility criteria

  • SSC JE Paper-I will be a computer-based examination (CBE) from 23 September 2019 to 27 September 2019 and SSC JE Paper-II is scheduled to take place on 29 December 2019.
  • With the release of Official SSC JE Notification 2018-19, the vacancy pattern will be announced. The official notification of SSC JE 2019-20 will be released on 1 August 2019 on SSC Official website.
  • Candidates must have a diploma or degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical discipline and their final result must be declared before or on January 01, 2019 as Candidates who are in their final year are not eligible for SSC JE Exam 2019.
  • Candidates eligibility will be confirmed at the time of verification of the documents. If the SSC JE eligibility of the candidate does not match the one given in the application form, their candidature will be canceled.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2019

Candidates can check the SSC JE eligibility as per Nationality, Educational Qualifications, Age Limit and, Age Relaxation, given below in the article

Nationality

A candidate must be one of the following in order to qualify for the SSC JE Exam.

  • a citizen of India
  • a subject of Nepal
  • a subject of Bhutan
  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India, before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling here permanently
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Junior Engineer (Civil), MES Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University OR Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and Two years experience in Planning, Execution, and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works
Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University OR   Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and   Two years experience in Planning, Execution, and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works

Junior Engineer(Mechanical) DTE of Quality Assurance Naval Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from any recognized University/Institution; and Two years experience in respective fields i.e.- Either of the field assurance/quality control/ production/manufacturing and testing of marine engineering propulsion system including turbines, power generation equipment, hydraulic system, as conditioning/refrigeration, pumps values, gears and gear trains, boilers, cranes/winches/load handling devices etc. including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation
Junior Engineer (Electrical) DTE of Quality Assurance Naval Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognized University / Institution;   and Two years’ experience in respective fields i.e.- Either of the field assurance / quality control / production / manufacturing and testing of switch gears, cables, converters, light and light fitting, motors, generators, drives and control systems, airfield lighting equipment, Electronics / Radar / Radio / Telecommunication equipment, electro-hydraulic system, programmable logic controller-based systems, printed circuit boards / instrumentation, software development and validation, network control system etc. including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation. and their interpretation

Age Limit

  • 18-27 years for Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts
  • Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES
  • Up to 32 years for Junior Engineers (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.
  • 18-27 Years for Junior Engineers(Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES.
  • Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical &Mechanical) in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Ministry of Defence.
