How did Abhishek feel about SSC CGL results?

MEA was my dream post and there was a sign of relief when I secured the MEA post although It didn’t matter to me what rank I was to get. It’s a big achievement for me. I expected to receive a Rank within AIR 200.

What is the mantra of success in SSC CGL according to Abhishek?

Abhishek says that proper guidance is the key to an aspirant’s success. The guidance might be from any coaching institute or a senior aspirant. Moreover, an aspirant must follow the right books, the right strategies.

And solving the Mock Test Series is extremely helpful. The aspirants need proper guidance to avoid the wrong type of books and study materials.

Did the unstable situation regarding SSC CGL examination like court cases, mass cheating, etc. affect your confidence and preparation in any way?

In answer to this question, Abhishek says, “It depends on us how we see the situation. We should not take things negatively. It’s we who tackles the situation. My ultimate aim was to clear SSC CGL. When I came across all these insecurities, I tended to focus on SSC CGL 2018. If you want something and the situation is getting tougher, don’t lose heart and don’t be disappointed.

What was Abhishek’s strategy in clearing SSC CGL?

In this regard, Abhishek again insists on correct guidance, knowing the exam properly before appearing in the exam. According to Abhishek knowing the syllabus, what to read, and what not to read is important. He adds, “Know your strengths and weaknesses. Work on your weaknesses. Be consistent in your preparation in spite of the negative situation, be consistent in your revisions and be focused.”

How many hours of preparation are required by an aspiration to clear SSC CGL?In response to this question, he says,” 4 hours of preparation per day is enough.”

Is it possible for a Working Aspirant to prepare for an ongoing job?

Here Abhishek reply’s “Yes it is possible for an aspirant to clear the SSC CGL with an ongoing job. I have done it already. I was already working as Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police during my preparation. I used to cover my studies during the weekends. We can make weekly revisions on Saturdays and Sundays.”

What books and study materials should Aspirants follow according to Abhishek?On this matter, he says that “books are the prime source of preparation. One should spend more time in self-study . Good preparation includes 10% of coaching guidance and 90% of self-study.

No doubt, good coaching can provide you with proper guidance and syllabus coverage.”

Some books that Abhishek suggests are S.K BAKSHI and WORD POWER etc. English Language and for Mathematics, NCERT books of class 9 and 10 and books from Kiran Publications.

He also says that “I have used a number of Mock Tests, I use to segregate the questions in accordance with the topics. The first Mock Test series that I joint is from Sure Shot test series from TopRankers.com and SSC TUBE Test series. I have also used an offline test series as well.

What is the importance of Mock Test Series, Books and Previous year papers in cracking SSC CGL?

In this regard, he says, he could not have cleared the exam if he had not gone through Mock Test Series. Mock Tests are very important for SSC CGL preparations. He emphasizes the importance of saying,” I give 5/5 Points to Mock Test Series and books for SSC CGL preparations. I give 4/5 points on the usage of Previous Year papers."
