Overview: The Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PUCET Law) is a state-level selection examination test conducted for admission to law-based courses for UG students, such as PU BA.LLB (Hons.) & PUCET 3 year LLB exam
The Panjab University has commenced registration for PUCET Law 2025. Students can apply for the PU BA LLB entrance exam & PUCET 3 year LLB exam by filling out the application form and providing basic details like their education qualification, communication address, etc.
What is PUCET Law 2025?
The Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PUCET Law Exam) is being conducted for admission into the 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated courses. Panjab University offers two courses in the 5-year integrated program, namely, BA.LLB (Hons) and B. Com. LLB (Hons) & PUCET LLB in 3 year LLB course. Candidates are assessed in Subjects like English Language, Mental Ability, Legal Aptitude, GK, and Current Affairs for the PUCET Law 5 Year LLB and current Affairs and general Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Proficiency in the PUCET LLB 3 year course.
This exam is held in Chandigarh, Hoshiarpur, and Ludhiana. Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam must complete the online admission form and attend offline counselling.
Candidates must pay the PUCET Law 2025 application form fees to complete registration. Additional late fees will be charged if they cannot submit the PUCET Law application form within the prescribed time and format.

PUCET Law 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Exam
PUCET 5 Year integrated Law Program
For the PU BA.LL.B Exam, candidates should have passed a 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD) from any recognized Board or university.
As such, there is no upper age limit to apply for the PU BA.LL.B Law Entrance Exam.
PUCET 3 Year LLB Program
The Entrance Test for Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) shall be open to all such candidates who possess the qualifications as mentioned below:
(a) Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in any discipline with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD) in aggregate from any University recognized by the Bar Council of India.
(b) In case a candidates having Bachelor’s degree of this University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate, through Modern Indian Languages Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) and/or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit or Persian or Arabic), the aggregate of 45% marks shall be calculated by taking into account the percentage of aggregate marks that he had secured at the language examination, excluding the marks for the additional optional paper, English and the elective subject taken together.
PUCET Law 2025 Application Form
The PU CET LAW Exam application is partly online and partly offline. The application process consists of the following steps:
Step 1: Online Registration
- Candidates must obtain PUCET LLB registration details to access the admission portal and fill out the application form.
- You must visit the university's official website - uglaw.puchd.ac.in.
- Enter the new registration tab.
- Fill in the essential particulars, such as the mobile number and email ID, and complete the registration.
- Once this is completed, the candidates will get their user ID and password.
- Once the candidates have completed their online registration, they will be allotted an application number, login ID, and Password.
Step 2: Application Form Submission
- After obtaining the login credentials, fill out the PU BA.LLB or PUCET 3 Year LLB application form 2025. You would be required to fill in the basic details such as name and family details; you would be required to enter the educational qualification details and the communication address.
- You must upload the requisite certificate and documents, such as the class 10th mainsheet and pass certificate. The candidate has to upload a photograph and a specimen signature in the format and dimensions prescribed by the respective university. After considering all the particulars, kindly submit the application form.
Step 3: Application Fee Payment
- The prescribed application fee will be the final step in the PUCUET LLB 2025 application process.
- Candidates have the option to pay it online. The registration fee will differ across categories.
- Once the fee has been paid, the candidates must download a copy of the application form for future reference.
PUCET Law 2025 Section Wise Marking Scheme
The Panjab University Law Entrance Exam will consist of 100 questions for both the 5-year and 3-year LLB programs. 1 Mark is allotted for each right answer, and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. The total mark of the paper is 100, and the duration of the exam is going to be 90 minutes.
The PUCET Law 5 Year LLB paper's 100-question set will include 60 questions testing General Knowledge and Current Affairs, 20 questions based on aptitude for law, 10 questions on mental ability, and 10 questions assessing English Language.

The PUCET 3 Year LLB Paper's 100-question set will include 30 questions testing Current Affairs & General knowledge, 30 Questions based on Reasoning Ability and Knowledge of English and 40 questions assessing Legal Aptitude.

PUCET Law 2025 Admission Process

The candidates are required to read the guidelines and prospectus for admission to the B.A.LL.B 5 years integrated course and PUCET 3 Year LLB Course.

Candidates must log into their accounts using the login ID and password generated at the time of registration.

The Candidates must complete each section (Categories, Class +2, Weightages C Other Information, Documents) carefully and lock each section. ( Once the candidate has locked a particular section, you will not be allowed to change information in that section).

Candidates must print out the application form and submit it/send it along with the other required documents to the address(es) mentioned on the printout of the admission form.

PUCET Law 2025 Admit Card/Hall Ticket
The candidates will only be allowed to appear in the entrance test when they produce their Admit Card at the Test Centre. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the PU BA.LLB/ PUCET LLB exam without the production of the admit card under any circumstances. The candidate must retain the Admit Card with themselves until the admission process is over. Therefore, the candidates must carry the admit card for the PU BA.LLB 2025/PUCET LLB 2025 entrance exam to the examination hall.
The Admit Card will be issued to the candidate on a provisional basis only and at her/his sole risk and responsibility. If she/he is found to be ineligible later on, it will cancel her/his result or any other consequence emanating from the same.
PUCET Law 2025 UG Exam Result 2025
The Entrance Test result will be available at http://results.puchd.ac.in and also at http://uglaw.puchd.ac.in. No separate Result Card will be issued. Only eligible candidates can apply for admission at http://uglaw.puchd.ac.in after the result is declared.

Candidates who do not belong to the state of Punjab are generally eligible to apply for the PUCET Law Exam. It is open to candidates from across India.
