Before proceeding with the MP Judiciary Application Form, you must check whether you have satisfied the eligibility criteria. 

Madhya Pradesh High Court has prescribed specific criteria for the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Services Exam, which is conducted annually to fill various civil judge posts. As per the MPCJ official notification, your online application can be processed only if you satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the exam conducting body.

The MP Judiciary Eligibility Criteria are categorized into factors such as educational qualification, age limit, Nationality and character.

MP Judiciary Age Limit 2024 

You are eligible for the MP Judiciary Exam 2024 only if you satisfy the age limit criteria prescribed by the exam conducting body. Otherwise, your candidature will be cancelled.

  • According to the official notification, your minimum age should be 21 years as of 01 January 2024.
  • The maximum age limit to apply for the exam is 35 years.
  • You can also apply for the exam if you work as a permanent or temporary MP Administrative Cadre. However, your MP Judiciary age limit should be between 21-38 years.

MP Judiciary Exam Eligibility Criteria - Educational Qualification

MP eligibility criteria:

  • To apply for the Madhya Pradesh Civil Judge exam, you must have completed your graduation in Law from a recognized university.
  • Also, you must have passed your final year examination before the Interview round to be eligible for the exam.
  • You must have engaged in continuous practice as an Advocate for a minimum of three years on the last date fixed for the submission of the application.
  • Or, you must be an exceptional law graduate with an outstanding academic record and have cleared all exams on your first attempt with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks (for the General category) or a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (for OBC, SC & ST category) during your three to five years of law degree, are eligible to apply.

MP Judiciary Exam Eligibility Criteria Relaxed: HC Allows Candidates with Less Than Six Court Appearances to Apply

Now, if you are a practising advocate, you don't have to generate a certificate of continuous practice. 

This is in context to a recent advertisement requiring lawyers to have at least 6 vakalat namas per year in orders or judgements to be eligible for the post of Civil Judge.

The latest ruling suggests this requirement might not be strictly enforced if the candidate can prove continuous practice.

MP Judiciary Exam Disqualification Rules 2024

The High Court of Madhya Pradesh must cancel your candidature for selection in the following cases. As a result, the candidate will be debarred from all recruitment processes.

  • If any applicant received or attempted to support impersonation or has produced forged documents or documents which have been tampered with or any substance given for examination in any sense.
  • False information has been given in the application/letter/attestation/document.
  • A male or female applicant who, at the time of their marriage, had one or more spouses is alive. But in such a case, the Government will decide otherwise.
  • Th one who has been convicted of any offence against women.
  • The one who has more than two children, one of whom is born on or after the 25th day of January 2001, but shall not be disqualified if two or more children are born in subsequent delivery with one child alive
  • If you have suppressed material information or any other irregular or unfair means to gain admission to the examination.

MP Judiciary Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Important Information

  • As per the official notification, you should have good character and health to apply for the civil judge post.
  • Also, you must make sure that no criminal cases are on you. To validate the same, you must submit your character certificate issued by the authorities in your university.

  • Providing any wrong information in the online application form may lead to disqualification.
  • You cannot apply for the exam if you have more than one spouse.
